WKBE/Glens Falls, NY Now ‘Big Country 107.1’

• Albany Broadcasting just pulled off a format flip inside its Adirondack Broadcasting group in Glens Falls, NY, as Hot AC WKBE (107.1 The Point) becomes Classic Country Big Country 107.1, “Country’s Biggest Legends,” focusing on hits from the late ’70s through the early 2000s from artists like George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Alabama, Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn, etc., along with timeless tracks from Willie Nelson, George Jones and other legends.

Big Country 107.1 will be under the command of Jon  Reilly, who doubles as PD of Rhythmic WAJZ (Jamz 96.3) & Country WKLI (100.9 The Cat)/Albany and OM of the Adirondack Broadcasting group — WKBE, Country WFFG, Classic Rock WNYQ, Oldies WENU-AM & Fox Sports affiliate WMML-AM.

Tom Jacobsen, GM of Adirondack Broadcasting, commented, “We are proud to bring these great Country memories to the Capital Region and North Country on a great signal, and we expect listeners to really love our new station — Big Country 107.1, ‘Country’s Biggest Legends.'”

Jacobsen says the Big Country jock lineup “is legendary as well, featuring the DJs that played these hits when they first came out” — CMA Award winner Kevin Richards, who also does middays on WKLI/Albany will host the Big Country morning show from 5:30-10am; Jacobsen, a.k.a “Jake Thomas” will slap on the cans and do middays, and CMA winner Sean McMaster, who also does mornings on WYJB/Albany will drive you home weekdays from 2-7pm.
