Adjustments & Openings @ CBS San Diego

Bass Sam 2017RAMP has learned of several high profile personnel moves — and two prime fulltime openings — at CBS Radio San Diego. Let’s start with market mainstay Sam Bass, an original staff member of AC KyXy, who, after nearly four decades of service to the station has decided to dial back his day-to-day involvement and moves from middays to weekends. PD Chris Patyk said of Bass, “Sam is a consummate professional and a great human being. Without Sam Bass there is no KyXy. I’m thrilled that he is still part of our KyXy family.”

Rosati Joe 2017Concurrent with Bass’ transition to weekends, Patyk has tapped Joe Rosati as his replacement. Rosati (left) unplugs his headphones and wheels his chair across the hall from middays on Top 40 sister KEGY (Energy 103.7). At the same time, Energy 103.7 evening entertainer Alexia Gloria is elevated into middays, succeeding Rosati, and in the process, creating a killer fulltime night opening. That position is posted on the CBS Radio Careers page (Ref#: 27070). Mr. Patyk also wanted us to help spread the word that he’s also looking for a talented Digital Content Coordinator for the cluster (Ref#: 27069). On-air skills would be hugely beneficial for this position.

And finally, RAMP has learned that Randy Hoag, a longtime cast member of KyXy’s Jeff & The Showgram has left the show after 23 years. Hoag posted a farewell message on his Facebook page. The Showgram will soldier on with host Jeff Detrow, Hall of Fame Executive Producer “Little Tommy” Sablan, and co-hosts Laura Cain and Emily Griffiths.
