NYC, Miami ‘Illuminate’ First Responders

• Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. and iHeartMedia announced a partnership to reach those millions of listeners sheltering at home, by combining the reach and power of the mighty Z100/New York and the amazing tower lights of New York’s iconic Empire State Building.

The action began last Friday at 9pm, as the Empire State Building’s lights were synced to Alicia Keys‘ modern era anthem of New York City, “Empire State of Mind,” which blasted forth from Z100. The light show replayed on Saturday night, and will roll again nightly from Monday, March 30 through Thursday, April 2. The Empire State Building’s lights also pulsed in “a dynamic heartbeat” Sunday night during Fox Presents The iHeart Living Room Concert For America.

The Empire State Building and Z100 will premiere new light shows each Friday night as they work together to beat COVID-19. And to honor the first responders who tackle this health crisis daily, Z100 morning personality Elvis Duran will kick off every light show at 8:55pm with a spotlight interview to highlight the amazing individuals who are on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.

“New Yorkers always find a way to unite and encourage one another during challenging times,” said Tom Poleman, Chief Programming Officer for iHeartMedia. “Our hope is to continue to provide some comfort to our listeners through the healing powers of music, as we show our country’s resilience and strength with a music-to-light show through New York icons Z100 and the Empire State Building.”

Listen and watch for the announcement of a new music-to-light show that will premiere on Friday, April 3, and play nightly for one week. The show, which was designed by world-renowned lighting artist Marc Brickman, will also be streamed on the Empire State Building’s Facebook page.

• In a related story, Paramount Ventures and iHeartMedia Miami have forged a partnership to recognize and thank all medical professionals and first responders and to show community support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning Monday, March 30 at 10pm through Sunday, April 5, the Paramount Miami World Center will illuminate the skies of Downtown Miami with a new music-to-light show synced to Pitbull‘s new inspirational anthem, “I Believe That We Will Win” (Saban Music Group) and carried live on Y100 & Tú 94.9, and the iHeartRadio app.

Pitbull will join the live broadcast and share some inspirational words for the debut of Miami’s World Center music-to-light show. To honor the first responders who tackle this health crisis daily, iHeart Latino COO Enrique Santos will kick off every light show at 10pm with a new spotlight interview to “illuminate” the amazing individuals who are on the front lines daily of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We want everyone to continue to practice social distancing and obey our city’s curfew while viewing the light show from their windows and rooftops,” said Santos. “Join the conversation by posting inspirational messages and ‘thank you videos’ to our 1st responders via your social media pages with the hashtag #iHeartMIAMI.”
