Drew Walker On The Move

RAMP has confirmed that Drew Walker, an on-air fixture at Audacy Country WUSN (US*99)/Chicago for the past two decades, has resigned his midday post and will be announcing his next move soon.

Walker, who was one of only three staffers to survive “The Great Shrinkage of 2020,” and has anchored US*99’s 9am-noon shift since May 2021, shared his news in a lengthy Facebook post that reads, in part, “What can I say after 20 years? Simply, THANK YOU. Yesterday was my last day on the air at US*99. Why now? It’s time for a change.”

Walker joined WUSN as a part-timer in February 2004 and was promoted to full-time in September 2005. His previous stops include WMYX/Milwaukee, WZSR/Crystal Lake and WKRS/Waukegan, IL.

Walker’s post continues, “What’s next? I’m not allowed to say just yet but I am very, very excited about my future right here in Chicago. I promise that when I get the green light to talk about it, you’ll be the first to know and it is GOOD!”

It should be noted that Walker’s weekend/fill-in/voiceover work with Case Communications’ WLGE/Baileys Harbor and WQDC/Sturgeon Bay, WI continues.

In the meantime, Walker can be reached at drew@drewwalker.com.
