Niko & Cruz On The Loose
• More departures at CBS Radio as the merger with Entercom slowly ticks down to zero… the latest person to take the exit ramp is Niko, MD/midday personality at Top 40 WBMP (92.3 AMP Radio)/New York. Niko, whose full name is Nicholaus Petrou, is a four-year AMP Radio vet. Before that he hosted a TV show for Music Choice and previously spent eight years across the street at iHeartMedia rival Z100. Niko currently hosts a podcast called “The Delivery Room Show,” and he continues to be the voice of Spotify, along with his nightclub DJ/party MC work. Niko is looking for his next opportunity and can be reached at nicholauspetrou@gmail.com.
• We also wanted to bring to your attention the newfound availability of Deanna Cruz, who most recently did mornings on Entercom Rhythmic AC KHTP (The New Hot 103.7)/Seattle — until a month go, when she was displaced by the hire of Seattle’s own Hip Hop legend Sir Mix-A-Lot.
Cruz joined KHTP in July 2015, moving cross-country after an eight-year run with Cumulus Rhythmic WWKX (Hot 106)/Providence, the last four of those as co-host of the Rise & Grind morning show. She was also a regular entertainment and pop culture contributor at WPRI-TV/Providence. Cruz is a native of Hartford, CT who graduated from Boston University and began her radio career at WAJZ (Jamz 96.3)/Albany, NY. Ms. Cruz is now actively seeking her next radio challenge and can be contacted at cruzdeanna@gmail.com.
