Pros In Motion: Zepp, Traen, Pilger
• RAMP has confirmed that Brian Zepp and Terri Traen have exited their afternoon drive shift on Cumulus Classic Rock KQRS/Minneapolis. On Monday afternoon the station tweeted this photo of the duo along with the message, “It’s a tough day here at the Q when we have to say goodbye to two friends and coworkers… We wish Zepp & Terri nothing but the best.” Traen had been with the station for 27 years and used to be Tom Barnard‘s longtime morning co-host.
While we were informed that its Cumulus policy “not to comment on personnel changes,” we did notice that Ray Erick is now listed on the KQRS website as the station’s 4-8pm personality. Erick had done nights there for the past five years, but he’s certainly no stranger to driving the Twin Cities home, having previously done pm drive on KQRS for 14 years. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune noticed the big change and covered Traen’s departure.
• Entercom Norfolk has filled its crucial Imaging Director position with the hire of Ashlee Pilger, who will join the company after five years in a similar position with iHeartMedia in West Palm Beach, FL.
In a staff memo announcing Pilger’s hire, Entercom Norfolk VP of Operations Don London said, “Ashlee has a BA degree in Sound Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and has 10 years of radio experience. Ashlee is an excellent commercial voice talent and will be voicing commercials for Entercom Norfolk in addition to her Imaging Director duties. She can also help us as an air talent when needed.
