Radio Now Wake-Up Crew On The Loose
• RAMP has confirmed that Radio One has parted ways with the Joe and McKinzie morning show that had been based at Top 40 WNOW (Radio Now 100.9)/Indianapolis and simulcast on sister KROI (Radio Now 92.1)/Houston. No replacement show has been named.
Host Joe Pesh (Piesz), second from right, is now a free agent, as is Executive Producer Garrett “Porkchop” Kozden (left) and Associate Producer/co-host Liv “The Web Girl” Carris (right), who all left the building on Thursday, due to was was described as a “reduction in workforce.” Co-host McKinzie Roth (second from left) has fared slightly better, as she has accepted a position with local CW affiliate WISH-TV as an “Entertainment Insider.”
Pesh remarked, “I’m very proud of my track record in Indy. In my first year there, I led the morning show from 15th to 2nd place P18-34, eventually reaching No. 1. We’ve also consistently been top 3 in women 18-34 over the past year. I’m grateful to VP of Programming Colby Colb, Indianapolis VP/GM Deon Levingston and Top 40 Format Director Dustin Kross for the opportunity they gave me here.”
Prior to his arrival in Indy in Oct. 2016, Pesh did mornings at Midwest Communications’ Top 40 WSTO (Hot 96)/Evansville, IN. Before that he spent seven years with Cumulus Country WTNR/Grand Rapids, MI as morning co-host/Executive Producer. Earlier in his career Pesh was an Asst. Producer for WXYT (97.1 The Ticket)/Detroit.
