South Florida Pleasure Kruz
• Cox Media Group Miami keeps it in the family and taps cluster vet Mike Kruz as the new afternoon drive personality on AC WFEZ (Easy 93.1). The new gig comes with an “Easy” commute for Kruz (pictured), who crosses the hall from middays on Top 40 sister WFLC (Hits 97.3).
Gary Williams, Director of Branding & Programming, commented, “Mike is a multi-talented personality who brings many years of experience to our brand. His energy, passion for radio along with his commitment to our community makes him a perfect fit for Easy 93.1.” He added, “Mike understands the importance of connecting not only on the air with listeners, but through our various social media platforms.”
The move marks a return to the AC world for Kruz, an established Miami club DJ who was originally hired by Williams in 2012 as morning co-host on Lincoln Financial Media [now Entercom AC] WLYF (101.5 Lite FM). Kruz later joined WFLC for weekends, and was upped to fulltime in August 2013.
• Kruz succeeds Jeanne Ashley, who exits after six years. Ashley previously did nights at Lincoln Financial (now Entercom) AC rival WLYF (101.5 Lite FM), and she’s probably best known for her 11-year run at KCKC (Star 102.1)/Kansas City.
