House Rebuilt In Nashville

After seven years of retirement, Country radio legend Gerry House has fished his headphones out of a box in his storage unit and is returning to the radio, this time as an official voice talent for iHeartMedia Classic Country The BIG Legend at 98.3, effective Friday, May 26 at 7am. A multiple CMA, ACM, Billboard and Marconi Award-winning radio personality, House famously anchored the Gerry House and the House Foundation morning show on sister WSIX/Nashville from 1983 to 2010.

“The truth is, the good times, the spirit and the hits we played back when the House Foundation morning show was on the air will be on The BIG Legend at 98.3,” said House, who will be joined on-air by his “longtime male companion” Mike Bohan. House added, “While this won’t be a fulltime show, all the laughs we had will be heard once again. Fun never gets old, and as always, I blame Mike Bohan.”

Gator Harrison, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Nashville, clarified that House is not returning as a fulltime air talent, as he said, “No, Gerry is not coming back to do a full show, but Gerry back on the radio, in any form, is can’t-miss radio. In addition to classic House Foundation moments in morning drive, Gerry will be The BIG Legend at 98.3’s voice. Think of it as on-air Twitter. He thinks it, he says it, and we all laugh. The BIG Legend is all about reliving the moments and the music, but it just wouldn’t be complete without Gerry House.”

Bonus Fun Fact: House is also a successful songwriter, who has penned hits for George Strait (“The Big One”), Reba McEntire (“Little Rock”), LeAnn Rimes (“On the Side of Angels”) and Pam Tillis (“The River and the Highway”). His songs have also been recorded by Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Trace Adkins, Mark Collie, Clint Black, Neal McCoy, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Big & Rich, among others.
