Walus, Bodean On The Loose

• RAMP has confirmed that Chris Walus has exited his position as Area President for iHeartMedia’s 11 stations in the Wilmington-Dover and Salisbury-Ocean City, MD markets, the result of a reorganization of the company’s operations in Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Walus is an eight-year company vet who had been managing the Wilmington market until Sept. 2011, when a similar corporate restructuring resulted in him adding the Salisbury-Ocean City market to his portfolio as a newly named Regional Market Manager. He was upped to Area President in January 2016. Prior to joining iHeartMedia in Oct. 2009, Walus notably spent 11 years across the street as General Sales Manager for Delmarva Broadcasting.

In a statement, Walus said, “I’ve had a fabulous eight years with iHeartMedia collaborating, leading and selling alongside some of the best, brightest and most innovative media people on the planet. Now, I’m looking for my next media adventure.” Walus can be easily reached at 302-750-6946 or waluschris@aol.com.

• Yesterday we also learned that a similar bout of consolidation has caused Tommy Bodean to exit his position as SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Jacksonville, FL due to restructuring. Bodean has been with the cluster since September 2010, when he was named PD of the former WFKS (97.9 Kiss FM). Two years later he was upped to OM of the six-station cluster and eventually rose to SVPP.

Bodean’s earlier programming stops include WNFN (i106)/Nashville, WNOK/Columbia, SC, WKFS (Kiss 107.1) & WVMX (Mix 94.1)/Cincinnati, WZEE (Z104)/Madison and WKXJ/Chattanooga, TN. Bodean is looking forward to his next broadcasting opportunity and can be reached at tommybodean@gmail.com.
