Afternoons Open, KKBQ/Houston

• Yesterday we reported that Caitlin “CJ” Johnson had exited as APD/MD/afternoon personality at Cox Media Group Country KKBQ (93Q)/Houston after nearly three years. The station has now posted the opening for a new afternoon drive personality.

The ideal candidate should have at least five years of on-air experience — ideally in a Top 50 PPM market, and with a track record of PPM radio ratings success in Country, Hot AC, Top 40 or similar formats.

Applicants should excel in all areas of social media / digital including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc. You should be fun, compelling, engaging, professional and understand how to create great radio in a PPM-friendly environment, along with the  proven ability to work hand-in-hand with the sales, promotions, digital and production departments. Knowledge of WideOrbit, Adobe Audition, etc. would be preferable.
