Emery’s Exit Creates Rare KUZZ Opening

Geoff Emery, a 20-year fixture (and current midday personality) on Buck Owens-owned heritage Country KUZZ/Bakersfield announced on-air and over social media that this Friday, May 14 will be his last full-time day with the station as he pursues a new, non-radio opportunity. Emery will, however, continue to do part-time work for KUZZ.

“Geoff is one of the signature voices that has ever been on the KUZZ airwaves,” said KUZZ PD Brent Michaels. “While I’m excited for him that he has a new opportunity outside of radio, he will be missed by our audience and his colleagues.” Emery previously won two ACM Broadcast Personality awards during his 18-year run as part of the KUZZ Morning Show with Steve Gradowitz, and was nominated this year for a solo ACM award.

KUZZ is now actively looking for a successor to take over the midday shift. Interested applicants can send a resume and aircheck to Brent Michaels at brent@buckowens.com.
