Laurenti, Barsky, Tanner On The Loose

• More iHeartMedia downsizing has been reported, as New England radio pro John Laurenti has exited his position as PD of Rock cousins WHEB/Portsmouth, NH and WGIR/Manchester, NH due to budget cuts. The Manchester-based Laurenti had been on the job since August 2015. Before that he worked part-time at CBS Radio Classic Rock WZLX/Boston and Cumulus AC WWLI (Lite Rock 105)/Providence. His previous stops include WODS/Boston and WHJY/Providence. Needless to say, Laurenti will spend some quality time watching the Red Sox, but he’s already seeking his next radio adventure and is available for long, moonlit chats at 781-956-9885 or jlaurenti99@gmail.com.

• Meanwhile, out in Sacramento, Entercom Top 40 KUDL (106.5 The End) has parted company with Wake Up Call co-host Jason Barsky and evening personality Greg Tanner. Co-hosts Gavin and Katie remain aboard, and RAMP has learned that, effective Monday, the morning show will be rebranded as The Wake Up Call With Gavin, Katie & Rayne, as PD Tim “Rayne” Rainey joins the show. Barsky can be reached at 916-897-6000 or jasonbarskyonline@gmail.com.

• Tanner (left) was originally hired in June 2013 to do mornings on KUDL when it was Hot AC Star 106.5. In February, when former Top 40 clustermate KDND (107.9 The End) signed off the air, the format migrated over to 106.5 and Tanner segued to nights. He was also voicetracking sister WNTR (107.9 The Mix)/Indianapolis as well as Madison and Memphis. Prior to his 2013 arrival in Sacto, Tanner worked in Fort Myers, FL doing a morning TV show for Fox affiliate WFTX-TV. His earlier radio experience includes six years as MD/morning host at Cox Media’s WMXQ/Jacksonville, FL and afternoons at Entercom Top 40 WXSS (103.7 Kiss FM)/Milwaukee. Tanner comes with a good recommendation from KUDL PD Rayne and can be reached at greg@gregtannermedia.com. Check out samples of his work at gregtannermedia.com.

• The search for a new night personality for 106.5 The End is now underway. Hoodrat Miguel from Throwback sister KRBQ (Q102.1)/San Francisco is currently filling in via the magic of voicetracking technology, but applications are now being accepted via the Entercom Careers Portal, then email your aircheck, resume and social media to SacRadioGig@entercom.com. No calls please. Hurry! This offer won’t last long!
