Non-Comm Opportunities Await In Florida

• Always nice to hear from veteran programmer Brad Waldo, Director of Audio Content for Community Communications’ NPR affiliates 90.7 WMFE/Orlando and 89.5 WMFV/Ocala, FL, who has some actual job opportunities to share.

Waldo explained, “WMFE has a strategic plan to increase our local coverage and community representation and is committed to additional hiring people to achieve that goal. To that end, we have just added two new positions starting on July 10: a Producer/Reporter and a Housing/Homelessness Reporter.” Now, the good part, as he continued, “Right now we are looking for three people, including: 1) an Environmental Reporter, 2) a Program Host, and 3) a Senior Producer for a new local show we will be launching this Fall.”

Waldo, who spent most of his career in commercial radio until making the non-comm switch five years ago, added, “If there are any folks who have made their career on the commercial side of media until now and have not considered the non-commercial side, I encourage you to check us out. It could be a great opportunity!” You heard the man — these openings are now posted  — apply now! EOE.
