Bieber Fever Sweeps Twin Cities

Better Bie-lieber It — The sold-out Justin Bieber show originally scheduled for June of last year is finally happening in the Twin Cities tomorrow night, and to properly celebrate this long-delayed event, the intrepid team at iHeartMedia’s 101.3 KDWB/Minneapolis got seriously creative — as KDWB PD/iHeart CHR Format Lead Rich Davis explains to RAMP, a high-profile (albeit temporary rebranding) has taken place.

Behold! 101.3 KDWBieber! (Get it?) All day Thursday and Friday leading up to the show, all station imaging, sweepers, rejoins, stagers, jingles, top-of-the-hours, jock talks… everything — has been changed to KDWBieber. On top of that, KDWBieber is blowing out tickets both days with a challenging game of Bieber Ticket Tag — in order to win, every listener must know the name of the prior hour’s winner.

“Nothing seems to get as much traction or buzz as when we change our station name,” says Davis, “plus it’s a fun challenge to make sure all my DJs say it right for the next two days.” To find out more about what the heck is going on at this crazy little radio station up north, visit kdwbieber.com (Get it?).
