Denton Now SVP/A&R @ Warner Records
• Norva Denton has been promoted to Senior Vice President of A&R for Warner Records. Denton is based at the label’s downtown Los Angeles headquarters and reports to Warner Records’ CEO & co-Chairman Aaron Bay-Schuck, who commented, “Norva is the perfect fit for our revitalized A&R department, as he brings youthful energy, solid relationships, and a strong marketing background in addition to his A&R expertise. He has the respect of the creative community and artists alike, and [COO-co-Chairman] Tom [Corson] and I congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion.”

Born and raised in Chicago, Denton started in the music industry in 2008 as West Coast Regional Director at Motown/Island Def Jam in New York City. During that eight-year stint, Denton worked with Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Logic, Alessia Cara, Charlie Wilson, Kelly Price, Rick Ross and Pusha T, among others. Denton joined Warner Records in 2018 as Director of A&R, during the label’s rebrand under the leadership of Bay-Schuck and Corson.
Since then, Denton has shaped YFN Lucci‘s footprint in the hip-hop community and signed Grammy-nominated artist Wale. Serving as producer on Wale’s album, Wow… That’s Crazy, the lead single, “On Chill” feat. Jeremih, hit No. 1 at Urban radio for four weeks, reached 466 million streams, and was certified RIAA Platinum. The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200and has garnered nearly 800 million overall streams.
