VP Upgrade For UMG Nashville’s Malleus
• Universal Music Group Nashville has promoted Leigh Parr Malleus from Director of Media Marketing to Vice President of Media Marketing. In her newly elevated role, Malleus will oversee the publicity department for UMG Nashville, which includes Capitol Records Nashville, EMI Records Nashville, MCA Nashville and Mercury Nashville.
Since joining the company in 2013, Malleus has overseen the publicity for a sizeable roster of artists including Brandon Lay, Dierks Bentley, George Strait, Jon Pardi, Josh Turner, Kassi Ashton, Lauren Alaina, Little Big Town, Maddie & Tae, Sam Hunt and Shania Twain.
Malleus succeeds Lori Christian, who this week was elevated to SVP of Marketing. “Leigh has been an integral part of the publicity and overall marketing team for the last seven years,” said Christian. “Her diverse career experience, ability to always look at the big picture and calm presence make her an incredible publicist and a great leader.”
Prior to joining UMG Nashville, Malleus was a publicist with independent PR firm Essential Broadcast Media. Before making the transition to publicity, Leigh worked in management at McGhee Entertainment, as well as several years with talent agency WME.
