Best Wishes, Paul Cook!

We are sending out our most positive thoughts to Paul Cook, longtime afternoon personality on CBS Radio AC KYKY (Y98)/St. Louis, who revealed that he is battling Stage 4 cancer. Cook broke the news in a video posted to Y98’s Facebook page. “In case you’re wondering where I have gone for big chunks of the next six months, the reason is that I will be getting treated for stage four colorectal cancer,” Cook said. “Big surprise to me as well, but I have the best doctors, so much love around me, and there is no better place to work than right here during something like this.” Given Cook’s lengthy tenure in the market, his news was covered extensively by several local TV stations, including Fox2Now.com.

Cook, who is married and the father of two daughters, is originally from South St. Louis County. He met his wife while attending Eastern Illinois University. Ironically, she recently survived a bout with cancer. Cook’s 2009 memoir, Cooked in LA (I Shot For The Stars & Hit Bottom) details his journey into addiction and recovery. As the Amazon.com blurb reads, in part, “Ten years ago Paul Cook made it his personal goal to simply make as many people as possible feel great about being alive. Through his struggles Paul learned that, ‘True success and significance comes from feeling right about yourself.'”

Best Wishes, Paul Cook!
