A Star Is Hugged

• Fresh off his appearance on Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards, acting legend Sam Elliott, one of the stars of A Star Is Born was immortalized yesterday when his hand and footprints were cast in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX® in Hollywood. Elliot’s co-stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were also in attendance to show their love and support. The ceremony was emceed by Ellen K, host of The Ellen K Morning Show on iHeartMedia AC KOST 103.5/Los Angeles and the newly appointed TCL Chinese Theatre ambassador and permanent master of ceremonies for the theatre’s famed celebrity handprint and footprint ceremonies. That’s Sam and Ellen sharing a touching post-cement hug.

Elliott’s career started with bit part in the classic film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He rose to stardom playing the lead in the cult classic Lifeguard, and has gone on to build a successful career with hundreds of memorable film and television roles. Elliott most recently earned a SAG Award, a Critics’ Choice Award nomination and a National Board of Review Award for his role as Bradley Cooper’s older brother Bobbyin A Star is Born — it’s Elliott’s most heralded performance to date, coming on the eve of the 50th year of his illustrious acting career.
