Carson Takes Over Mornings On WIXX

• Midwest Communications’ heritage Top 40 WIXX/Green Bay is pleased to announce its new era in morning drive — say hello to Chris Carson, who will assume the morning show mantle from Jim Murphy, who concluded in his epic 32-year run on November 28.

Carson is an 18-year radio vet who was born and raised in NE Wisconsin, who most recently worked at Midwest Communications’ Country sibling 101.9 WDEZ/Wausau and Cumulus Country WPKR/Oshkosh.

Carson stated, “I’ve been listening to WIXX and the Murphy show since I was 10 years old. To think that I will now host the show, is a dream come true. I have so much respect for WIXX and Midwest Communications and look forward to carrying on the winning tradition that is expected at 101 WIXX.”

WIXX Brand Manager Corey Carter, who made the hire, commented, “We’re confident Chris will be able to represent us well as the new era in WIXX morning radio begins. Chris is a good fit for our culture and the creative nature of our team.”

And there’s more news — Murphy’s longtime co-hosts Katie Schurk and Nick Vitrano recently announced they have decided to move on, which creates an opening for a talented co-host to join Carson. For more information or to submit your material, contact Corey Carter at corey.carter@mwcradio.com.
