KQMQ/Honolulu Rebrands As HI 93

• Pacific Media Group has rebranded Contemporary Hawaiian Hits/Reggae outlet KQMQ/Honolulu from 93.1 Da Pa’ina to HI93. Much like its previous incarnation, HI 93 will continue to place an emphasis on local (Hawaiian) hit music, and feature artists ranging from Common Kings to The Green and J Boog.

HI93 formally launched with a new morning show and a reshuffled weekday on-air lineup, starting with The Morning HI with Steezy & Rella from 5:30-10am, followed by Pu’unui in middays, Crystal Akana from 2-7pm, and Phat Joe moving to 7-midnight.

“HI93 will deliver familiar and current local hit music, with a brand new energetic morning show,” says Kelsey Yogi, Director of Programming. “I’m excited to have Steezy and Rella start their own show together, after watching their chemistry develop over the years.”

David Baronfeld, Pacific Media Group recently appointed Oahu Market Manager/GM, remarked, “As Hawai’i’s only locally-owned and operated statewide radio group, PMG is committed to aligning our brands and formats to mirror the lifestyle of our listeners. HI93’s new on-air lineup and musical emphasis will attract a new and broader audience.”
