Portland Rebranding Party

iHeartMedia Alternative Radio 102.3 (KKRZ HD2)/Portland, OR takes on iHeartMedia’s “ALT” branding, and rebrands as ALT 102.3, Portland’s New Alternative. Along with the new look, ALT 102.3 also gives the Premiere-syndicated The Woody Show a new Northwest affiliate… and a sizeable measure of payback, as Woody said, “Returning to Portland is a homecoming of sorts for me. I was unceremoniously fired in 1997, but thanks to the folks at the new ALT 102.3, I now have the opportunity to return and reaffirm that decision.”

PD Ben Marcotte remarked, “We’re excited to be able to bring The Woody Show and the best in Alternative music to the fans in Portland. Portland has an avid Alternative Rock fan base and The Woody Show has built an incredibly compelling and entertaining brand that we can’t wait to share with our listeners.” ALT 102.3 will also feature two-minute or less commercial breaks after 10am. Here is the revised ALT 102.3 jock lineup: 5-10am, The Woody Show; 10am-3pm: Mackin; 3-7pm: Ben Marcotte; and 7-midnight: Mike Jones.
