WBBB/Raleigh Adds Brittain In Afternoons

• Curtis Media Group Adult Hits 96.1 WBBB/Raleigh announced the addition of veteran broadcaster Christy Brittain as the station’s new afternoon personality.

A Tennessee native, Brittain caught the radio bug at age 17 and has been working steadily since then. She most recently worked for El Dorado Broadcasters in Victorville, CA, doing afternoons on KATJ (KAT Country 100.7) and weekends on Hot AC KZXY (Y-102) & Classic Rock KIXA (106.5 The Fox)/Hesperia, CA. She previously spent 14 years in middays at Audacy Country KFRG (95.1 K-Frog)/Riverside, CA. Already familiar with the unique rhythms of The Triangle, Brittain earlier worked for iHeartMedia Country WTQR/Greensboro and Heart Traffic in Raleigh.

“We are thrilled to welcome Christy to the 96.1 BBB team,” said Sammy Simpson, Program Director of 96.1 WBBB. “Her experience, authenticity, and passion for connecting with listeners make her a perfect fit for us. Christy understands what great radio is all about, creating meaningful relationships with audiences while delivering entertaining, engaging content every day.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to join 96.1 BBB and reconnect with listeners in North Carolina,” Brittain said. “Radio has always been about companionship and community, and I look forward to spending afternoons with the incredible people of the Triangle.”

Beyond her broadcasting career, Brittain has worked as a paraeducator supporting autistic preschoolers, reflecting her passion for serving others and making a positive impact in the community.
