Mix Moves On, Minus Hart

Hubbard Radio Hot AC WTMX (101.9 The Mix)/Chicago has finally arrived at a resolution to its four-month-old “Kathy Hart situation,” announcing that morning co-host Kathy Hart will not be returning to her role on the Eric & Kathy Show after 21 years. Except for a brief appearance on May 1, Hart (left) had been M.I.A. from the station since April 27 — without a solid explanation to her co-workers or listeners about her extended absence.

Speaking of Ms. Hart, Jeff England, VP/Market Manager of Hubbard Radio Chicago said, “We wish her all the best as she moves on to the next phase of her career. To our listeners and clients, rest assured that Eric, the morning show team, and all of us at The Mix will continue to serve you as we enter a new era of morning radio on the station.” Drew Horowitz, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hubbard Radio, LLC commented, “We will always be grateful to Kathy for her contributions over more than two decades with the station.”

The Mix will now move forward with longtime morning host Eric Ferguson and the rest of the wake-up team, which includes Melissa McGurren, Brian “Whip” Paruch, Cynthia DeNicolo and John “Swany” Swanson. We understand a formal morning show rebranding is in the works.
