Large Opportunity For McConnell Adams

• We want to send our best wishes to McConnell “Man@Large” Adams, who, after a decade in Alaska is headed back to the Lower 48 and his former longtime radio home Michigan — he’s the newly named Brand Manager of Townsquare Top 40 WJIM (97.5 NOW FM) and AC WFMK/Lansing. He will also do mornings on 97.5 NOW.

Adams took to Facebook to announce his resignation from afternoon drive on iHeartMedia Top 40 KGOT/Anchorage, AK, his radio headquarters since April 2015. His last day is Sept. 28. Before landing at KDOT Adams programmed Frontier Mediactive Top 40 KWLF (K-Wolf 98-1)/Fairbanks and Ohana Rhythmic KFAT/Anchorage. “I have to thank Casey Bieber, Mark Murphy and Andy Lohman for two and a half wonderful years,” Adams wrote. “My iHeartMedia family in Anchorage is nothing but class and I will miss you all!”

Adams’ lengthy Michigan radio history dates back to WDRQ and WHYT/Detroit, WIOG/Saginaw, WKPK/Gaylord, WBXX/Battle Creek, WCFX/Mt. Pleasant and WHZZ/Lansing. Townsquare Regional Operations Manager Tom Cook said, “McConnell’s enthusiasm and attitude are infectious and he’ll be a great leader for these two important stations. I’m excited to have him on the Townsquare Michigan team!” Adams will succeed Josh Strickland, who was recently named Director of Localism for Smile FM, a non-profit, non-comm Contemporary Christian network that broadcasts on 88.1 WLGH/Lansing and on 25 stations in Michigan, Ohio and Arkansas.
