Beasley Makes Ft. Myers Moves

• Beasley Media Group announced two programming moves at the company’s Ft. Myers, FL radio cluster — the action begins with Matt Mangas (left), PD/morning personality on Soft AC WJPT (Sunny 106.3), who will unplug and cross the hall to become the new PD and midday delight on Active Rock WRXK (96K-Rock). He succeeds Jeff Zito, who last month earned a transfer to Classic Rock sister WPBB (98.7 The Shark)/Tampa as APD/afternoon personality.

Stepping in to succeed Mangas as PD/morning guy on WJPT is industry vet Chris Randolph (right), who is inbound from afternoons on W&B Broadcasting Classic Hits WAKY/Louisville, and his extensive resume also includes stops at Alpha Media Hot AC WXMA (102.3 The Max)/Louisville, WMXL/Lexington, KY, WMTX/Tampa and seven years with WAMZ/Louisville.

“Both Matt and Chris are proven and experienced programmers,” said Justin Chase, Beasley EVP of Programming. “These two great radio brands are in the hands of winners!” Ft. Myers OM Adam Star said, “I’ve worked closely with Matt Mangas for years and have witnessed his passion and programming knowledge firsthand. He made it an easy decision to move him across the hallway from WJPT to lead WRXK as the new Program Director.” Star continued, “Trying to find a replacement for Mangas on WJPT was a challenge until we met Chris Randolph, whose velvet voice and extensive major market experience was a perfect fit to win on WJPT as the new Program Director & morning man.” Both guys officially begin their new positions on May 6.
