Beharrell Changes The Station In Chicago
• Alpha Media “proudly” announces the newest addition to its suburban Chicago Classic Alternative station, WERV (95.9 The River) — less than 24 hours after his departure from WKQX (Q101)/Chicago, please welcome a man who inexplicably refers to himself as “Greg Beharrell.”
Phil Becker, Alpha Media EVP of Content, commented, “I’ve been a fan of Greg Beharrell from 2015 to 2017… and then again for a few weeks in 2023 until we got a few mean emails. I can’t think of a better fit for The River, in spite of trying.”
TGBS host Greg Beharrell confusingly interjected, “Welcome to the quote,” before adding, “After building a loyal listenership in Chicago over four years, I’m excited to bring my show to The River… cool?” Authorities remain uncertain of who Beharrell was referencing with the question.
WERV Content Director Todd Nuke ‘Em said, “Every decade or so, a truly special radio talent emerges and takes over the airwaves, and Greg is the perfect stopgap while we wait.”
