Bob Lawrence Leaving Saga

• A new month brings new horizons for Bob Lawrence, who announced he is leaving his position as VP of Programming for Saga Communications, effective immediately. In an email to RAMP, Lawrence said, “Being Saga VP of Programming has been such a thrill. Leaving was a difficult decision but it just seems the right time. Saga is an incredible company and they’ve truly been fabulous to me. As they say on Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain… ‘This here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!’ It’s been a wonderful five-year run. I’m just ready for a lifestyle change and new opportunities yet unseen.”

Lawrence joined Grosse Pointe, MI-based Saga in April 2015, succeeding Steve Goldstein, after 15 years of running his own company, Pinnacle Media Worldwide. Lawrence’s earlier radio experience includes a stint as OM/PD of Clear Channel’s KIOI (K101)/San Francisco and PD of CBS Radio’s KHTR/St. Louis. He also programmed KITS/San Francisco during its Mike Joseph-powered “Hot Hits” run, and was one of the original Hot Hits jocks at the flame-throwing 98WCAU/Philadelphia back in the day. Lawrence also notably spent over a decade as SVP of Operations with Broadcast Architecture. Going forward, Lawrence can be contacted at 313-244-6993 or Bglawrence@me.com.
