Bob Lawrence Returns To Michigan
• Last week we first mentioned that Bob Lawrence was wrapping up his stint as Market Manager for 7 Mountains Media in Parkersburg, WV-Marietta, OH for a new gig TBA… that gig now has a name — Lawrence revealed that he and his wife Risea are headed back to Michigan, as Lawrence is joining MacDonald Broadcasting as Market Manager of the company’s Saginaw radio and digital properties — flagship Country 98.1 WKCQ, Adult Hits WMJO (97.3 Joe FM), and Mainstream AC simulcast WSAM-AM/WSAF-FM (92.3/104.1/1400 The Bay).
Lawrence remarked, “I first met owner Kenneth ‘Mac’ MacDonald, Jr. during my 5+ years in Detroit at Saga Communications. His forward-thinking reputation and family-owned company truly excites me. With his daughter Mackenzie also part of the already strong leadership team, MBC is now a third-generation local broadcast company committed to quality, compelling content in Saginaw and Lansing.”
Prior to joining 7 Mountains, Lawrence had served as GM of RAB’s National Radio Talent System (NRTS) since January 2023. In 2020, Lawrence moved to Jackson, MS as Market Manager for New South Radio, later adding the company’s Meridian market. In 2000, he launched Pinnacle Media Worldwide, serving 15 years as President/CEO of the San Diego-based research firm before being recruited in 2015 by Saga Communications, spending five years in stylish Grosse Pointe Farms, MI as corporate VP of Programming/Content. Earlier in his career Lawrence served a decade as SVP of Operations at Broadcast Architecture.
In closing, Lawrence said, “I am truly ecstatic and more than grateful to Mac, Mackenzie and Cindy Tuck for this wonderful opportunity!” Lawrence begins his new adventure on June 2.
