Byrd Ready To Drive Chicago Home

• Hubbard Classic Rock WDRV (97.1 The Drive)/Chicago promotes from within, as Brand & Content Director Keith Hastings announced that night jock Byrd has been elevated to permanent afternoon drive personality at The Drive.

Hastings commented, “Byrd has been a Chicago fixture at the format for over 20 years, and an important part of The Drive team for over 10 of those. He’s more than earned this prime opportunity and I’m excited about his role in this natural evolution of our legacy brand.”

Indeed, Byrd had done weekends/fill-in on the Drive since 2012 and was upped to nights in 2020. He had been handling afternoon drive temporarily since Steve Seaver‘s departure in December. Prior to joining The Drive, Byrd spent a decade across the street at the late, legendary WLUP (97.9 The Loop) where he held every position from mornings to nights. Byrd earlier worked in St. Louis, Baltimore/Washington, Toronto and Las Vegas.
