John Candelaria exited as Program Director of Sierra H Broadcasting Classic Hip Hop KZCE (101.1 The Bounce) and Rhythmic Oldies KAJM (Mega 104.3/Phoenix after a successful three-year run.

Candelaria thanked his team first and foremost, commenting, “It’s been an incredible ride since 2020. The amazing staff at KZCE accomplished great results. I’m grateful to owner Ken Brentlinger and GM Paul Holton, who both gave me the opportunity to build The Bounce, back the vision, and never concede to the big boys. We were able to take KZCE to record-breaking numbers, including moving KZCE from the 23rd ranked station with Persons 25 to 54 to top 7, top 5 18-49, and top 3 with Persons 18 to 34, and a 4.1 share of the market 6+, on a inferior signal. Hey, we even, conceived and executed the greatest concert in the history of the company with a sold-out crowd of over 12,500 attending the Bounce Birthday Bash concert starring Ice Cubein April.”

Prior to his arrival in Phoenix in 2020, Candelaria worked for Beasley as PD of Rhythmic AC WMGC (105.1 The Bounce) and Urban AC WDMK (Kiss 105.9)/Detroit. Before his transfer to the Motor City, Candy spent six years with Beasley Las Vegas as Urban Format Captain and OM/PD of Rhythmic Oldies KOAS (Old School 105.7) and Hot AC KVGS (Star 107.9). Candy earlier spent nine years with Radio One Dallas as OM of Urban KBFB (97.9 The Beat) and Urban AC KSOC (Old School 94.5). Prior to that, he was known for his decade in El Paso as OM of the Clear Channel cluster and PD of KPRR (Power 102).

Candelaria added, “I have learned a great deal at Sierra H and I’m better equipped for my next challenge. I have the passion, experience, PPM knowledge, strategy, innovative tactics, and event marketing skills to contribute something substantive and special with my new radio home.” Candy is now seeking his next opportunity and can be reached at Johncandelaria1313@gmail.com or 702 -701-3408.
