Carni Named APD, KKFN & ESPN 1600/Denver

• Bonneville Denver has elevated Richie Carni to Assistant Program Director of Sports-Talk duo KKFN (104.3 The Fan) and KEPN-AM (ESPN Denver 1600). In his newly upgraded spot, Carni will help oversee day-to-day responsibilities for both radio stations and succeeds Parker Hillis, who was recently named Brand Manager of Audacy’s KILT-AM (Sports Radio 610)/Houston.

“Watching Richie’s growth over the past five years has been nothing short of extraordinary,” said Raj Sharan, PD of 104.3 The Fan and ESPN Denver 1600. “He brings a tremendous level of maturity and unmatched work ethic, and we have full confidence in his abilities to help manage our terrestrial day-to-day operations.”

Carni joined the company in May 2017 and two years later was named The Fan’s afternoon drive producer. Under his direction, The Drive finished No. 1 its target demo of men 25-54 multiple times, including achieving a station-record high rating for the daypart in October of 2020. He was named The Fan’s Executive Producer in January.

“I have never been part of a work environment more talented, dynamic and forward-thinking than here at The Fan,” said Carni. “I couldn’t be more proud to work with such an eclectic team and help continue setting the bar for sports-talk here in Denver and across the country.” [Photo credit: Bonneville Denver]
