Centore Dons Multiple ATL APD Hats
• Cox Media Group Atlanta has named Chris Centore to the newly created position of Assistant Program Director for AC WSB-FM (B98.5), Classic Hits WSRV (97.1 The River) and Urban AC WALR (Kiss 104.1). Centore will also do afternoon drive on B98.5, a shift that had been inhabited for six years by Madison James until her exit in April.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the CMGA team,” said Chris Eagan, Sr. Director of Operations of CMG Atlanta. “His years of diverse experience in programming plus his all-in, can-do attitude make him the perfect fit for this role.”
Centore started his radio career in 1999 at the former WHOB/Manchester, NH before moving to Richmond, VA to help launch the market’s first-ever Alternative station, WDYL (Y101). He later worked at WPST/Trenton, WFNX/Boston and WXLO/Worcester, MA. He most recently spent six years in mornings at WBQB (B101.5)/Fredericksburg, VA. He joined the B98.5 on-air team in April 2019.
“I’m excited for this new opportunity with B98.5 and to work alongside Chris Eagan and the CMGA team,” Centore said. “I look forward to being part of our listeners’ afternoon commute and to help our radio stations continue to deliver the best, most compelling on-air content in Atlanta.”
