Cleveland Says ‘Hello, Throwbacks!’

• iHeartMedia Cleveland on Friday launched Throwback 99.1 on WMMS-HD3/W256BT, playing the best throwback songs from the ’90s and ’00s from artists including Usher, Mariah Carey, Dr. Dre, Nelly, Eminem, etc. The station will also feature well-known local personalities LeeAnn Sommers in morning drive and Allen Colon in afternoon drive.

“‘Throwback’ is more than just the name of the station — it’s a cultural touchstone that celebrates the artists and anthems that were the soundtrack of a generation,” said Keith Hotchkiss, Market President for iHeartMedia Cleveland. “Clevelanders who grew up with this music have fond memories of the stations and personalities that brought the music to the masses, and we’re bringing it back on 99.1!”

As we speak, Throwback 99.1 is powering through 10,000 songs in a row commercial-free.
