Coffey Break From Radio

• After four months on the job as Operations Manager for Community Broadcasters’ stations in Elmira-Corning, NY, JC Coffey announced his impending departure and a move into a non-radio career opportunity TBA. In a memo, Coffey said, “I’ll be stepping down for a new position, outside of radio, to be announced at a later date. I wish to thank Jim Leven and Bruce Mittman for the opportunity to lead such a fantastic cluster of stations and wish Community Broadcasters and all the friends and family I’ve made here all the best!”

Earlier this month we reported that Seven Mountains Media was purchasing the seven-station Community Broadcasters’ group in Elmira and Olean, NY.

Coffey was named Operations Manager for Top 40 WNKI (Wink 106), Country WPGI (100.9 The Wolf), Rock WNGZ, Talk WWLZ-AM & Classic Country WRCE-AM in September 2018. He’s also PD/morning talent for The Wolf. Coffey was previously PD/MD and afternoon talent at Binnie Media Country WTHT (99.9 The Wolf)/Portland, ME and OM/Brand Manager of Townsquare Media Country cousins WOKQ/Portsmouth, NH and WPKQ (103.7 The Peak)/North Conway, NH and Classic Hits duo WSAK/WSHK (102.1 & 103.5 The Shark). Earlier in his career Coffey was Brand Manager/morning guy at Saga Classic Hits WMLL (96.5 The Mill)/Manchester, NH and he also did weekends at WAAF/Boston.
