DJ Q Upped To GM, Hot 107.1/Memphis

UPDATED: Big news out of Flinn Rhythmic/Hip-Hop KXHT (Hot 107.1)/Memphis, where PD/afternoon personality DJ Q has been awarded General Manager stripes.

This upgrade marks the latest move up the corporate ladder for DJ Q, who originally joined the station as a member of the street team and later took over the night show. He was elevated to the PD post and afternoon drive in September 2019, replacing Mike Swift, who joined WKYS/Washington.

In making the announcement of DJ Q’s promotion, Flinn executive Shea Flinn remarked, “DJ Q’s exemplary work at Flinn Broadcasting in four years as the PD has led to this new position as GM. We are looking forward for him continuing to bring Hot 107.1 and its listeners the best radio experience in Memphis.”

DJ Q commented, “This station has been my life for the last 20 years and I’m looking forward to this new challenge. I would like to thank Dr. Flinn, Shea Flinn and everyone at Flinn Broadcasting for the opportunity to lead Hot 107.1 to a new level.”

RAMP later reached out to DJ Q, who told us, “I’ve been here since I was 15 years old as a high school reporter. This the only station I’ve ever worked for. I just worked hard and learned from [OM] Chris Taylor, Duane Hargrove, Mo Better, and Mike Swift until it was my turn.” He added, “I love this station and I’m homegrown. This has been my goal… my dream, and it came true.” Your best wishes can be shared with DJ Q at djq@flinn.com.
