Edge Named PD of ‘That Station’

• Nice to see Raleigh radio pro Chris Edge back in the programming chair, as he has joined Capitol Broadcasting Raleigh as the new Program Director of “That Station 95.7,” described by Edge as “Triple A with a focus on Americana.” The station is based at WCLY-AM and rebroadcast on translator W239CK @ 95.7 FM.

Edge broke his own news via Facebook, adding, “I’ll also be back on the air curating weekdays 8am-1pm! From Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell, and Ray Lamontagne to Lumineers, Mumford, and Maggie Rogers to Petty, the Stones, Local Natives and John Prine… even locals like Mipso, Delta Rae, Sylvan Esso, Jack the Radio, and some new kid named James Taylor! It’s all here! That Station… where Music and Community come first!”

Edge is a longtime market vet who most recently served as Area SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Raleigh and Greensboro until a year ago. Edge originally worked for Clear Channel Raleigh from 1994-2003, the final four years there as PD of WDCG (G105). In October of 2003 he was named PD of then Emmis-owned WNOU (RadioNow 93.1)/Indianapolis, and in 2007 he transferred to Emmis Austin, spending the next five years as PD of Triple A KGSR and Director of Digital Media for the cluster before returning to iHeartMedia Raleigh in Sept. 2012 as SVP of Programming.

Edge added, “Thankful to [Capitol VP/Radio] Brian Maloney for the opportunity to work for this amazing company and develop this incredible brand!” Edge can now be contacted at cedge@thatstation.net or in the office at 919-890-6141.
