Four More Years For Chris Williams

Chris Williams has inked a sweet four-year contract extension to remain in his integral role as Chief Product Officer for iHeartRadio, overseeing digital programming initiatives, product marketing, UXD and product strategies. He will remain based in New York City and continue to report to Darren Davis, President of iHeartRadio & iHeartMedia Networks Group.

Williams has been a driving force for iHeartRadio since November 2013 when he was named Senior Vice President of iHeartRadio Programming. Before that Williams was VP of Programming for the company’s Cincinnati’s cluster and PD of WEBN. Earlier in his career Williams programmed Clear Channel Active Rock WKLS (Project 9-6-1)/Atlanta.

Williams was upped to his current position as Chief Product Officer in December 2014. As the memo states, “During his tenure as CPO, Chris has expanded the iHeartRadio footprint to over 280 platforms and 2000 devices and more than tripled its audience to where it currently stands with a registered user base of 130MM. He also led the product initiative to launch two on demand services — iHeartRadio Plus and iHeartRadio All Access.

Most recently, Williams helped launch iHeartRadio’s integrated podcast platform with a feature-rich podcast player and over 250,000 podcasts, making iHeartRadio #1 for podcasts. And his hard work and talent was also recently recognized by the Worldwide Radio Summit, which named him its 2019 Digital Executive of the Year. Chris will be using his extensive product and market strategy expertise to continue to take iHeartRadio to new levels.”
