CPR’s OpenAir Rebrands As Indie 102.3

• At 5am MT today, Colorado Public Radio Triple A KVOQ (OpenAir)/Denver debuted its rebranded identity as Indie 102.3, under the command of PD Willobee Carlan. As the press release so cheerily states, “Indie 102.3 is built on the music discovery and independent sensibility of its OpenAir predecessor, with a new brand that is directly descriptive of the independent music experience we will deliver. The music and presentation will be lively, accessible and fun. Local and Colorado connected music will be showcased in shows and increased daily rotation.”

And the good news continues: the hosts you already know and love from OpenAir — Jeremy Petersen (now starting at 5am), Jessi Whitten, Bruce Trujillo and Alisha Sweeney will make their Indie 102.3 debut today with many new shows and features, and Willobee will also have a regular hosting gig. Also joining the team is audio wizard Zach Giltrap.

In other news, Paragon Media’s Mike Henry, who resides in Denver, has worked with the team on developing Indie 102.3, and today Indie 102.3 launches the Denver channel of VuHaus, a video platform of the leading public radio music stations who share a common mission to support emerging and local artists.
