Jeanne Ashley Wakes Up In Seattle
• Entercom AC KSWD (94.1 The Sound)/Seattle welcomes format veteran Jeanne Ashley into the family as APD and morning co-host. She will plug in alongside market fixture John Fisher to form the new John and Jeanne morning show, weekdays from 5-10am PT.
“Jeanne is an exceptional radio talent and we are happy to have her join The Sound’s air team because of her deep understanding of the values of the Adult Contemporary format, from the interests of its fans to its music library,” said Jack Hutchison, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom Seattle. “She is fresh, engaging and a great fit with John’s wit and local wisdom. Her music programming skills will provide us with greater creative power in packaging and presenting The Sound’s unique blend of relaxing favorites.”
Ms. Ashley relocates from sunny Miami, where she most recently spent six years in afternoon drive at Cox Media AC WFEZ (Easy 93.1) until July. Before that she did nights across the street at Entercom AC rival WLYF (101.5 Lite FM), and she’s probably best known for her 11-year run at KCKC (Star 102.1)/Kansas City. Ashley spent the early part of her radio career in Upstate New York at WYYY/Syracuse and WLZW/Utica.
Ashley commented, “I have been geeking out on 94.1 The Sound since the launch last December, so you can imagine how psyched and honored I am to join Entercom Seattle and to be a part of this team. I owe so much to Jack Hutchison and [Seattle VP of Programming] Dave Richards for their vote of confidence in me. [PD] Smokey Rivers is one of my favorite people on Earth, so working with him and John Fisher is really a dream come true.”
