JJ Hale Circles Back To Parkersburg
• Congrats to veteran programmer JJ Hale, has resigned his position as Director of Programming, Central Region for Total Media in Jackson, OH, and is joining Seven Mountains Media in Parkersburg-Marietta, WV as Programming Operations Manager for the six-station group — Country WGGE (Froggy 95), Active Rock WHBR (103.1 The Bear), Classic Country WLYQ-AM (Willie 94.7/1050 AM), Classic Rock WRZZ (106.1 The Goat), Top 40 WPKB-AM 1230/W278CQ (Pop 103.5), and legendary Classic Hits 99.1 WXIL.
“That last one makes this a true full-circle moment for me,” Hale noted in a Facebook post. “Growing up, 95 XIL was THE station. Everybody listened. As a kid, I remember doing homework at night with 95 XIL blasting from the radio. It was larger than life to me. So, when the opportunity came along in the ’80s to work there part-time, I jumped at it. Now, all these years later, to come back and join the management team at WXIL and lead programming and operations for the Parkersburg cluster feels completely surreal.”
Hale will also serve as day-to-day PD and PM drive talent for Froggy 95, reporting to Market Manager Lance Ballance. He will succeed John D. Green, who remains with the cluster, transitioning into a new Technical Operations role and continuing to serve in various on-air roles as needed.
