Knight Time Is The Right Time
Valorie Knight has been named as the new OM of Mid-West Family’s four-station Springfield, MO cluster and PD of Active Rock KQRA (Q102). The other stations under her care are Classic Rock KKLH (104.7 The Cave), Country KOMG (105.1 The Bull) and Rhythmic KOSP (92.9 The Beat). The good news is, Ms. Knight’s moving expenses will be minimal, as she simply crosses the street from the Scripps cluster, where she has been OM since 2008.
The move marks a return to the Mid-West Family…er… family for Knight, a 17-year industry pro who was previously Operations Manager of the company’s WQLZ and WLCE/Springfield, IL from 2005-2008. Before that she programmed WGIR (Rock 101)/Manchester, NH. Knight spent the early years of her career in her hometown of Kansas City as PD of Entercom’s KRBZ, MD/afternoons at Journal’s KQRC, and she was on-air at KRVK and the late KXXR. Commenting on her new adventure, Knight said, “I’m excited about the opportunity to return to one of the best local broadcast companies in the country, and happy to be back in the rock programming world with an amazing opportunity to grow within the Mid-West Family of stations.”
