Michael La Crosse is returning to the beautiful Pacific Northwest as the newly named Program Director of iHeartMedia AC KKCW (K103) and Classic Hits KLTH (Eagle 106.7)/Portland, OR, effective October 9. Tim Herbster, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Pacific Northwest Region, remarked, “Michael’s skillset is a natural match for taking the reins of KKCW and KLTH in Portland. His vast experience in programming for these formats and working with top talent is second to none,” said Herbster. “We can’t wait to welcome him to our community.”
La Crosse most recently programmed iHeartMedia AC KOST until January of this year, when he transitioned into an advisory role, working on key projects in iHeartMedia’s West Division. Prior to his arrival in Los Angeles in August 2013, La Crosse was Operations Manager for the iHeartMedia cluster in Spokane, WA. A native of Chicago, La Crosse started his radio career in 2001 as Promotions Director at former Smooth Jazz WNUA. Two years later he was upped to MD, and he later notably served as OM of Cumulus Oldies WLS-FM/Chicago until October of 2011.
“I’m excited to be joining the great teams at KKCW and KLTH,” La Crosse said. “They are among the gold standards in their respective formats and I’m very humbled and lucky to be joining them. My thanks to Greg Ashlock, Robert Dove, Tim Herbster and Andrew Jeffries for providing this opportunity.”
La Crosse will succeed Chris Shebel, who recently announced his departure at the end the year and subsequent relocation to Palm Springs, CA. Shebel has agreed to adhere to that timeline to insure a smooth transition.
