Lisa G. Named WMSC Pro-in-Residence
• UPDATED: Major market market radio news reporter Lisa Glasberg, better known as Lisa G., has been named as the 2022-2023 News Professional-in-Residence for WMSC-FM/Montclair, NJ, the award-winning campus radio station of Montclair State University.
The veteran news anchor, writer, and reporter, who can be heard daily on iHeartMedia’s 710 WOR/New York will work exclusively with WMSC’s news department alongside GM Anabella Poland to support and mentor the station’s student reporters. The one-year term will allow students to connect with Lisa G. on a regular basis, participate in workshops, and receive feedback on their newscasts and news reporting.
“I’m beyond thrilled to be working with students involved with WMSC-FM at Montclair State University,” said Lisa G. “It’s an honor to work with the school and General Manager Anabella Poland. I can’t wait to mentor the next generation of media stars.”
A proud graduate of Hofstra University (and a 2009 inductee into the Hofstra Radio Hall Of Fame), Lisa G. began her career at WRHU, the campus radio station. From 1990 to 1999, she was a morning show co-host with Ed Lover and Doctor Dre on HOT 97/New York. She then spent three years at WOR-AM before joining Howard Stern at SiriusXM for a decade as a reporter on Howard 100 News. In 2015, Lisa G returned to WOR-AM.
“I had the privilege to work with Lisa G. at SiriusXM when she was the news reporter at Howard 100 News,” says Poland, who was Director of Talent there at the time. “Her ability to find an interesting angle and details that stick with listeners is something that makes her news reporting stand out, and I’m excited she is joining us in this mentor role at WMSC-FM.”
