Looks Like A Job For Matt Johnson

Matt Johnson just arrived in St. Louis as the newly named PD of iHeartMedia Top 40 for KSLZ (Z107.7). The station has been without a permanent PD since February, when former Regional SVP of Programming A.J. transferred to Charlotte to program Top 40 WHQC (Channel 96.1) and Adult Hits WLKO (102.9 The Lake).

“Matt is a solid addition to the KSLZ and iHeart St. Louis team and we look forward to watching him grow this heritage CHR brand,” said Jules Riley, SVP of Programming. “We spoke with a number of talented programmers, but Matt’s drive, creativity and talent development made him our ideal candidate.”

Johnson most recently spent five years with Broadway Media Salt Lake City as OM/PD of Top 40 KUDD (Mix 105.1) and Rhythmic KUUU (U92). Earlier stops include seven years as PD of Beasley Top 40 WXKB (B103.9)/Ft. Myers, and he’s also made stops at WDKF/Dayton and WDBT/Jackson, MS. Johnson remarked, “I’m truly honored to lead such a heritage brand as KSLZ into its next phase. Big thanks to Jules Riley, Derrick Martin, Greg Chance and Maynard for giving me this opportunity. I’m excited to get to work with Jordan and the rest of the team in St. Louis. #GoCards.”
