Masteller Named PD of Philly’s Fanatic

Scott Masteller has been named as the new Program Director of Beasley Sports-Talk WPEN (97.5 The Fanatic)/Philadelphia. He replaces Chuck Damico, who succeeded Bill Weston as PD of Rock sister WMMR when Weston retired at the end of the year.

“Scott is one of the premiere programmers in Sports-Talk radio,” said Joe Bell, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Philadelphia. “I have been a fan for years and feel he’s the right person to continue developing the Fanatic Brand.”

A known specialist in Spoken Word content in both the news and sports formats, Masteller brings with him 45+ years of experience as a PD, on-air talent and as an executive, the past seven years as Program Director of Hearst’s WBAL (News Radio 1090/101.5)/Baltimore. He also constructed and managed networks for the Orioles, Ravens, and Navy Football.

Masteller earlier spent 13 years with ESPN as a PD in Dallas-Ft. Worth and as the Sr. Director of Content at the ESPN Radio Network HQ in Bristol, CT. He has also programmed stations in Portland, Salt Lake City and Lexington, KY.

“I’m excited to partner with Beasley and the talented staff of 97.5 The Fanatic,” said Masteller. “Philadelphia is such a great sports town with some of the most passionate fans in the country!”
