Mike OD Back in The Zone

Mike OD had been a familiar and trusted face at the original 101.5 The Zone in the ’90s and ’00s, but spent the last 15 years promoting festivals, concerts and brand activations mostly in Arizona, along with numerous tours around the U.S. O’Donnell started his career at 91X/San Diego, later joined the original Zone in sales and management, and hosted a weekend Reggae show. He went on to run KEDJ and KKFR/Phoenix and several stations in Flagstaff, AZ before moving into the concert promotion business. His return to radio marks his commitment to bring his experience, credibility, and a renewed vision to one of the market’s most iconic radio brands.

“Mike understands what made The Zone special the first time — and more importantly, how to evolve it for today’s media landscape,” said Mike Cutchall, owner of Zelus Media Group. “His return marks more than a personnel announcement — it represents a reconnection between a legacy brand and the Valley that helped define it. His leadership, relationships, and entrepreneurial mindset makes him uniquely positioned to build this station into something meaningful and profitable.”
