Moving Day At iHeart San Diego

UPDATED: iHeartMedia San Diego will be busy on Sept.1 swapping the dial positions of two of its AM stations — Sports-Talk KLSD (XTRA 1360) will migrate to the stronger 760 AM frequency and rebrand as San Diego Sports 760, and assuming the KGB-AM call letters that currently reside on 760, the home of News Talk 760 AM, which will… you guessed it… exchange dial positions and become Conservative Talk The Patriot 1360 AM and inherit the KLSD-AM calls.

“We are committed to delivering an audio sports platform with massive reach for our listeners and partners,” said Noreen Ippolito, President of iHeartMedia’s San Diego/Riverside Region. “Our goal is to reach fans wherever they are through the iHeartRadio App, KGB-FM-HD2 simulcast, and on 760 AM’s massive day and nighttime signal which can be heard all over the west coast.”

San Diego Sports’ weekday schedule looks like this — 6-9am: Big Rich, TD & Fletch; 9am-noon: The Herd with Colin Cowherd; noon-3pm: Darren Smith and Marty; 3-6pm: Jon & Jim; 6pm-6am: FOX Sports Radio.

The timing of San Diego Sports 760’s launch coincides with start of football season. As the official radio broadcast partner of San Diego State University Athletics, San Diego Sports 760 will broadcast live coverage of the SDSU Aztecs’ first game at the new Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego this Saturday, Sept. 3.

• Across the hall on News Radio 600 KOGO, Slater & Lou will launch on Sept. 1 and roll weekdays from 5-7pm, hosted by conservative talk duo Mike Slater and Lou Penrose. “Mike and Lou represent a fresh approach to talk radio,” said Brian Long, Director of News and Sports Programming of iHeartMedia San Diego. “Joining KOGO’s line-up on the drive home next to ‘champion of government reform,’ Carl DeMaio will provide the show with a great forum to deliver their unique perspectives to the KOGO audience.”
