Mr. Matthews Goes To Washington

• iHeartMedia announced that Dustin “Fletcher” Matthews has been named Director of Rock Programming for Classic Rock WBIG (BIG 100) and Alternative WWDC (DC101)/Washington, effective January 13, 2020. He succeeds Mike Killabrew, who on Jan. 1 returns to iHeartMedia Indianapolis as SVP of Programming and PD of WFBQ (Q95) andWOLT (ALT 103.3).

Matthews will report to Jeff Kapugi, Region SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia D.C. and Baltimore, who commented, “Dustin is one of the most dynamic rock programmers in the country. His programming expertise combined with his creativity and passion for our rock brands is unparalleled, and we look forward to welcoming him to Washington, D.C.”

Matthews earns the sweet upgrade from iHeartMedia Charlotte, where he is currently PD and afternoon drive personality for Alternative WEND (106.5 The End). He previously served as Director of Alternative Rock Programming for iHeartMedia’s St. Louis region and PD of KLLT (ALT 104.9)/St. Louis KDXA (ALT 106.3)/Des Moines, IA. His earlier programming stops include iHeartMedia sisters WRXL (XL102) and 96.1 The Planet (WRVQ HD2)/Richmond, and he has also worked at the late, great WFNX/Boston, WFXH/Savannah, GA, WDYL/Richmond and began his career at WIMZ/Knoxville, TN.
