National Radio Day Done Right

• On August 20, National Radio Day, the crew at Connoisseur’s Palm Springs decided to go beyond just talking about the importance of radio — they wanted people to come in and actually experience the medium in action.

As OM Todd Violette explains to RAMP, “Throughout the day, we welcomed 43 clients, community partners and local leaders into our studios, put them behind the microphones and gave them a chance to tell their stories on the air. It was busy, a little crazy at times, and exactly what local radio should be.

What I enjoyed most was watching our entire staff come together. Programming, sales, promotions, engineering, digital, our street team — everybody had a hand in making the day work.”

Violette added, “I’ve spent my entire career in radio, and days like this are a pretty good reminder of why I still love it. Thanks to everyone who walked through our doors, and especially to our Palm Springs team for making National Radio Day a special one.” Here is a brief video recap of the successful event.
